Kasia Fudakowski
‘One Decision Piece/Two Half Decision Pieces’
In response to a request to collaborate, Fudakowski responded with ‘doubtful doing’, a term she has developed specifically for this sentence and the next. Doubtful doing, is a meta-method or mechanism allowing the artist to both ‘do’ and ‘not do’ at the same time.
By positioning themselves as questioning their actions while acting, and representing choice architecture as the ‘product’ of this action, the artist escapes a definitive answer, passing the question on to the viewer.
The photograph depicting Fudakowski and the Amsterdam based graphic designer Sam De Groot (who will remain anonymous) was taken at the opening of Fudakowski's first solo exhibition at Chert Galerie entitled ‘Smile’.
Kasia Fudakowski is represented by Chertludde, Berlin.
